Sills Cummis & Gross Welcomes 2024 Summer Associates: Joseph Grushko, Olivia Kappel, Claudia Sanchez and Paul Cooke

Sills Cummis & Gross is pleased to welcome this year’s class of Summer Associates – Joseph Grushko, Olivia Kappel, Claudia Sanchez and Paul Cooke.
Joseph Grushko is a rising 3L at Rutgers Law School in Newark, where he is a member of the National Appellate Advocacy Team. He graduated from New York University in 2016 with a B.S. in Sports Management. He is interning in the Firm’s Newark office.
Olivia Kappel is a rising 3L at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she is a member of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. She graduated from Connecticut College in 2022 with a B.A., summa cum laude, in History. She is interning in the Firm’s New York office.
Claudia Sanchez is a rising 3L at Rutgers Law School in Newark, where she is a Senior Staff Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy. She graduated from Monmouth University in 2019 with a B.S.W., magna cum laude. She received a M.S.S.W., with a specialization in Policy Practice, from Columbia University in 2020. She is the Firm’s 2024 Charles J. Walsh Scholar.* She is interning in the Firm’s Newark office.
Paul Cooke is a rising 2L at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. He graduated from Swarthmore College in 2022 with a B.A. in both Economics and Political Science. He received a Graduate Certificate in American Politics from Villanova University in 2023. He is interning in the Firm’s Newark office.
The Sills Cummis summer associate program provides an opportunity for law students to hone their legal skills and gain experience, while obtaining a broad overview of the Firm’s practices.
*The Charles J. Walsh Scholarship Fund at Rutgers Law School in Newark was established by Sills Cummis & Gross in 2006 in memory of the late Judge Charles J. Walsh, who, prior to his appointment to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, was a valued Member of Sills Cummis & Gross for 17 years. Judge Walsh was also an adjunct professor at the law school.
