Recession is Leaving Indelible Mark on the Business of Law

The magazine asked New Jersey’s top law firm leaders whether their respective firms were affected by the current recession. Steven E. Gross, Chairman, stated: “We were not adversely impacted by probably the greatest recession since the 1930s and we expect 2010 to continue to be strong. I think it’s because we put in place a strategic business plan before the downturn which is basically specializing in areas where we have expertise. We specialize in health care, pharma and medical device companies, biotech and hospitals. As a result of changes in those industries, there has been a lot of need for legal advice and representation. We’ve learned to be cost-efficient for the client.”
