As seen in this article:
“Sills Cummis & Gross has added a co-chair to its employment law practice group and brought on a former federal prosecutor with leadership experience at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in a pair of recent partner lateral hires.
“Patricia Prezioso, most recently with Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, joined Newark-based Sills Cummis as of Feb. 22. She now co-chairs the employment and labor practice with partner David Rosen.
“Earlier in the month, the firm hired Mary Toscano, who until recently was deputy chief of the criminal division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark.”
Sills Cummis Managing Partner Max Crane “called Prezioso ‘a force in the state’ that ‘has a knack for developing business and for getting good results for her clients. She’s a builder, and I think she’s a mentor.’ The move to Sills offered Prezioso ‘a platform that allowed her not just to concentrate on … litigation skills, but to really be in a position to generate other sorts of business.”
“As for Toscano, Crane noted the firm’s ‘long history’ of hiring former federal prosecutors and government attorneys. The firm sees it as part of its reputation. Toscano became deputy criminal division chief in 2018, and before that was deputy chief and then chief of the general crimes unit, and chief of the organized crime/gangs unit. She joined the Justice Department in 2007, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey in 2012. At Sills, she’ll focus on representing individual and corporate defendants in investigations and white-collar criminal matters.”
