As co-chair, along with United State Congressman Donald M. Payne, of this charity event, Mr. Buckley opened the program with welcoming remarks and introduction of the seven “leaders and legends” honorees and seven college scholarship recipients.
The honorees in attendance were Michael Bright, Gil Chapman, Larry Hazzard, Albert King, Vaughn L. McKoy and John Moon. In addition to awarding seven scholarships to worthy Newark high school students, the event serves as the principal annual fundraiser for the Newark YMCA.
