Governor Jon Corzine signed a bill on Tuesday freezing development permits issued before the housing market collapsed until July 2012. “Developers and businesses spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and multiple years getting dozens of permits on their projects, only to be met by a terrible recession. They are now going to be able to keep those approvals on ice until the first sign of life in the market, rather than have to start anew,” said Ted Zangari.
