Law firms are finding that clients want to know how Wall Street will affect them. Max Crane, Managing Partner, mentioned that one of the firm’s clients “dropped off cartons of contracts to be reviewed by the firm.” They wanted to know how the collapse of 2 giant financial institutions would affect them. Crane said: “We are getting calls from clients that are either directly or indirectly involved in Wall Street…Their questions to us are: What does it mean? How are we impacted? And what are our options? They all went into evaluation mode. Everybody is trying to figure out what cards they hold before they figure out what game they are going to be playing.” He went on to say: “New Jersey firms are capable of offering the same quality representation of New York firms, and are in position to have fewer conflicts.”
