Policyholders have been more successful in cases with specific coverage for infectious diseases for event cancelations, Greenspan said. However, ‘for policies whose coverages are triggered by physical loss or damage, the federal and state courts, in both liberal and conservative states, have firmly shut the door hard on COVID-19 insurance recovery cases despite policyholders’ best efforts to pry it open,’ he added.”
