The Sills Cummis & Gross statewide Land Use & Zoning Law Practice Group is an essential part of the Firm’s broader interdisciplinary Redevelopment Law team that provides the full range of specialized legal services necessary to complete projects of all types. We represent property owners, contract purchasers and other interested parties in their pursuit of land use approvals and permits for residential, retail, office, industrial and mixed-use projects throughout New Jersey. The attorneys on our Redevelopment Law team include specialists in all aspects of the development and redevelopment entitlements process, including procurement of permits and approvals as well as public incentives at every level and department of government. Our Redevelopment Law team was launched at the dawn of the “smart growth” movement in the early 2000s and has influenced and pioneered the use of many of the government programs and public policies which exist today. Requirements
- 4-6 years of land use and zoning experience.
- Experience presenting applications before municipal and county planning boards and zoning boards.
- Significant command of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law.
- Strong research skills and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Redevelopment Law process in New Jersey, including experience negotiating and drafting redevelopment agreements and financial agreements, is a plus.
Qualifications
- Possess a JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to interact directly with clients.
