Jeffrey Hugh Newman will facilitate a panel at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ RECon 2011, the global retail real estate convention. The panel is part of the legal special interest group and will explore the state of the legal marketplace. Topics for discussion will include do’s and don’ts – things that outside counsel do that peeve inside counsel and things that outside counsel do that please inside counsel, actions to expand the relationship, alternative billing arrangements, how to conduct a successful “dog and pony” show, determining which cases are good fixed fee candidates, how to convert the dreaded fixed fee arrangement into a marketing tool to convey experience and efficiency and how to adjust law firm culture to the shock of the new billing paradigm.
