The New Jersey Law Journal’s June 18, 2007 issue contains an article about James Zazzali’s eight month role as head of New Jersey’s court system which recently ended due to a mandatory retirement policy. According to the article, “[Peter] Verniero, who left the Court in 2004, says Zazzali ‘has been extraordinary in a short period of time.’ Verniero says ‘even when I didn’t always agree with the outcome, I certainly agreed with the manner in which he decided cases.’ Verniero, now with Newark’s Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross, notes that Zazzali’s clearly written opinions were ‘the hallmark of an outstanding judge.’”
