Matthew P. Posada is a Member of the Sills Cummis & Gross Real Estate Department. Mr. Posada concentrates his practice in the areas of redevelopment and land use, as well as affordable housing litigation. He also advises private developers on financing methodologies for all types of commercial real estate projects.
Mr. Posada represents developers and Fortune 500 companies with obtaining residential, commercial, and industrial land use approvals before municipal and county planning and zoning boards. He has experience in all aspects of the development entitlement process, including land acquisition, the review and analysis of site plans, preparation of development applications and notices, and the presentation of applications before municipal and county boards.
In addition, Mr. Posada provides assistance to redevelopers in connection with the redevelopment process. This process entails working closely with municipal governments to design and implement the redevelopment project, as well as achieving tax abatements and redevelopment area bonds.
Prior to Mr. Posada’s career in private practice, he served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Alvaro L. Iglesias, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County.
While attending Rutgers Law School, Mr. Posada served on the Securities Law Moot Court team and was an active volunteer for the Pro Bono Bankruptcy Project, earning him the Dean’s Pro Bono Award for Exceptional Service.
