Susan C. Karp is Of Counsel to the Sills Cummis & Gross Real Estate
Department and focuses on environmental law.
Known as a straightforward practitioner with a practical approach to
resolving environmental issues in transactional and regulatory settings, Ms.
Karp counsels developers, buyers, sellers, owners, operators and lenders in
connection with a broad array of environmental matters concerning commercial
and industrial properties. Her practice
is national in scope and encompasses a broad range of issues, including due
diligence counseling, evaluating environmental conditions and liabilities
related to the acquisition and disposition of industrial and commercial
properties, evaluating remedial options and associated cleanup costs, and
identifying avenues of remediation cost recovery, including state and federal
financial incentive programs and general liability insurance.
As an active member of NAIOP NJ’s Regulatory
Affairs Committee and a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s
Industrial Site Recovery Act Committee, Ms. Karp regularly reviews and comments
on legislative and regulatory initiatives on behalf of the commercial and
industrial real estate industry. She is
also a board member and past president of Commercial Real Estate Women of New
